Creation Sabbath

  • In the Beginning God

"A well-known scientist (some say it was Bertrand Russell) once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the center of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy. At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: "What you have told us is rubbish...

  • Savior and Creator

  • Nature in the light from the Cross

“In the light shining from the cross [of Christ], we can rightly interpret nature’s teaching.”

  • Nature and the Power of God

As we see God's power in nature, may it remind us of the power of God we can experience in our own lives, to become His children. Not power to argue for a particular viewpoint whether in science or theology, but power to care about those who touch our lives. Not a form of godliness, but the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • The three angels' messages: An Adventist imperative

The year 1844 was an important one. The Millerites experienced the Great Disappointment, leading to a thorough restudy of the prophecies concerning the Second Advent. The increased understanding of the Scriptures that resulted from that study led to the establishment of the Seventh-day Adventist church. That same year, Charles Darwin completed a summary of his ideas on evolution by natural selection. He called it an abstract, but it was more like a small book.

  • Creation Sabbath

"You shall surely observe My Sabbaths, this is a sign between Me and you that you might know that I am the Lord, who sanctifies you." (Ex. 31:13).

  • Rest in a world of restlessness

We can rest secure in this life, and the reason is, God, our Creator, had a good plan for this world, and though human actions derailed that plan, because of what God has done in the life and death of Jesus Christ, His plan will be realized. His promised future is secure.

  • How it all began

We as human beings have become so self-sufficient that we have forgotten where we have come from. We have theories about everything, even how the world began. One theory is that it all happened by chance. But that doesn't seem to measure up with the evidence we have.

  • Jesus and the Sabbath

Divinely instituted, the Sabbath comes to us from creation and is sustained throughout the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation.

In the Beginning

At the heart of this documentary is the journey of two college students, Matt and Tiffany, who are given the overwhelming assignment of gathering information about the origins of the universe from a theistic worldview. Taking an RV, they travel around the United States and speak with both experts and bystanders along the way, while somehow trying to reconcile the bewildering mixture of scientific data, theological interpretations, biased opinions, and heated emotions.
